It started with one bag.

In 2021, after graduating from film school and struggling to find work during a difficult post-COVID job market, I stumbled across a beaded bag online.

Instead of buying one, I challenged myself to make one.

I had never imagined that a simple creative challenge would become the beginning of Mayaka.

What started as something I made to keep my hands busy eventually became something much bigger — a business, a creative outlet and a reminder of what can happen when you give yourself permission to try.
